Trinity College Tour & New Members Formal Dinner (Feb 8–10)
It was a great pleasure for me to host a Trinity College tour for our new members on 8th February, and to introduce them (in a small and humble way) to the beauty, atmosphere, and history of the College.
During the visit we explored the Great Court (home of the famous Great Court Run as in the Chariots of Fire movie), the Chapel, the gardens, several beautiful rooms, and the Dining Hall. Along the way we shared some fun historical curiosities, including Henry VIII's leg-chair sceptre, Lord Byron's bear pet, and the facts related to the manuscripts connected to Newton, Shakespeare, and even the first edition of the Winnie-the-Pooh stories (available to be seen in the Wren library)!
It was wonderful to meet so many new members and their guests and to share this small Cambridge experience together; I hope it will be a memorable welcome for everyone joining our community.
On 10th February, we then gathered again for the Welcome Formal Dinner in the beautiful Dining Hall, a perfect occasion to continue the conversations and celebrate together.
