On 2026, Feb 5th at the Trinity College we attended a nice event "Fireside Chat: Research Commercialisation" organized by the TCPDS Academic Strategy & Innovation Officer Nandini Karthik. The discussion brought together Nobel Prize–winning biochemist Sir Gregory Winter, and former Master of Trinity College, well known for his work on antibody engineering, and Professor Rebecca Fitzgerald.

The conversation was about how scientific discoveries can move from research in the lab to real applications and companies, and how academic work can have an impact outside the university.

I also had the chance to stay for dinner after the talk and sit with Sir Gregory Winter. He looked to be a very open, funny, and humble person, which made the evening even more enjoyable. It was a really interesting and pleasant experience.
